91 eighty-eight stalls going around turns

Ok everyone, it seems I've stumbled across a common problem and would like confirmation. I bought a 91 Olds 88 a few weeks ago and it's treated me really well. It runs great, rides great and is very comfortable and responsive for a heavy automobile. I bought it as my winter ride so I can garage my 89 BMW 325IS (she's a honey and I don't want her in the sand and salt of New England's winter roads) I've kept the gas tank between half and full in the 88 since I've owned the car but last night it was down to around 1/4. Anyway, I was exiting off the highway and about 3/4 of the way around the hard cornered exit the car seemed to stall. I coasted to the end of the exit and once it came out of the turn everything came back and I had power again.

I've read a post here that stated this is a known problem (broken gas tank baffle) in the early H body cars and was fixed in 95. If this is the case will simply keeping the tank at least half full be enough to avoid any stalling problems in the future? Also, is there a way to fix this short of replacing the tank?

Any input would be warmly appreciated.

If it does not happen past 1/3 tank or so it is probably the baffles.

It is hard on the fuel pump to keep it under 1/3 anyway though. Or so they say

General Motors has come out with a fix for this problem.
Inside the fuel tank is a pick up nylon sock at the end of the fuel pump and they went and designed a new style to be put in the tank. you will also have a problem with this vehicle if you park facing downward on a steep hill if you fuel tank is below 1/3 tank.
