Changin door panel speakers

Can anyone think of any reason why the factory fitted door speakers on a '95 P38 can't be upgraded?

I've only had a chance to have a quick look, but it looks like the whole door skin has to be pulled off to get to the speakers.

Could anyone who has tried this, or who could offer some advice or any information on what the standard door mounted speakers are in the basic model 4.0 P38 from 1995?
