Chevy 3500 Dooley Slammer

Folks, what do you think about this project:?
Chevy 3500 Dooley Slammer

I was thinking about putting under the hood a '90 Corvette ZR1-LT5 engine.
I want to paint it black / orange candy
The wheels are from Aoshima.

I would like to hear suggestions and if possible, some pictures in that style.

Thanks in advance!

Keep that paint scheme. I like it. Paint it, deep dark maroon red. There has been enough of that black/orange/silver painted silverados.

Hey!

That is awesome work, esspecially the lowering! I have the exact same model. I wanted to lower it but I had no luck, after all my attempts to lower it I just gave up and tried to modify it, and in the process wrecked it up.

Do you have a AIM or MSN messanger? I would really appriciate it if you could tell me how you lowered it. Thanks!

It is a simply exercise. I caught two rings of other Aoshima wheels and I joined them, making a wide dish. Then I put the same front wheel in the tire, giving the appearance of inverted wheel.

Jurva
Well... really has a lot of this black / orange / silver scheme... but I like that combination black / orange. I wondering to do some ghost graphs in the orange area, with some stars ou somestrips....
A friend of mine (thanks Magli) just drew this scheme: the darkest area would be the black. The clearest area would be the orange, with the strips in the ghost style.
What do you think about it?

Yea that color scheme looks perfect! But please make a bed cover for it and IMO it would look really nice if you let the stripes run along the whole car. And maybe insert a hood scoop, I donīt know if youīre planning to do a more "clean" build because if you are I donīt think you should use a hood scoop.

Something like this;

Take a look at this site and let your imagination flow...

I donīt know about you but I think something like that would look very nice.

I think that those colour could work. Throw some silver stripes to it.

Hey Drago, before you start a new project, how about you finish the pendant projects? Can you remember of the Chevy 58 that you promised to be a stunning project, and it is parked on your desk?

Regards and Happy New Year (for all people...from Brazil)

Weel, it s a pretty good work to lower this one, especially with the terrible chassis that comes with the kit. I'll build a new chassis with new "A" arms e all new suspension!

ol' dude
OK Man... I'm already providing the pictures and the text. Unhappily, the updatings will be a little slow, because I am with other projects in the desk! But, stay on! I'll put a new progress thread as soon it's possible!

DukeMan
Sorry, but, What is IMO? Thanks for the website and for the scoop idea, but i think i'll go with the clean style. And about the bed cover, I was thinking exactly about leaving without it, so the back suspension will show up. Something like this:

What you guys think about it?

Dirty Runner
My friend Outlaw, you're absolutely right! But that '56 Chevy (not 58) is drive me crazy! A lot of scratch... URGHHH!!!!!! So, i decided give us a break, you know... But, this one Silverado maybe bring me up the same problems! I hope not! I'm waiting for your great 2005 models! Don't take so long ok?
A great 2005 for us man!

And special thanks to all freinds that sent ideas and praises!

In My Opinion, I didīnt know either in the beginning, but I tell you itīs very useful! Iīm sure that whatever you decide to do with you pickup it will look great! Keep up the progress!

P.S What about having a open bedcover with hinges so that the suspension still can be seen?
