getting one soon? I hope

OK, time again where I get the itch to buy a vehicle, happens about every six months, but it gets me in trouble being I live in an apartment. In February, I picked up a Acura Legend on 18's, August I picked up a '93 Prelude SI, not to mention a couple smaller purchases along the way. The only ones that are mainly in the way are my 2003 purchases bought a 1998 Contour SVT in Feb and a '94 Prelude VTEC in May, along with my dumbass mistake of buying a repairable Eddie Bauer Explorer when I hate doing body work. So in other words, I'm a dumbass. I got rid of a couple and gave up on keeping up with Acura's wiring electrical mess caused by the guy before me not understanding technology-so that's sitting in my parent's back yard in the country.
Now I'm looking at 2000 LS's, V8's and V6's. I have a couple q's and a few other ideas.
1)Is the V6 that doggy? The 2.5 Duratec in the SVT isn't bad, but the LS is a lot bigger (no s--t) even though it gets the 3.0
2)What major probs should I look for?
3)Am I out of my mind, this is my "hoping" for range: either $10k or trading in both Contour and the Prelude Looking at V8's with around 60-70k mainly. Finding a lot for $11.5-12k.
4)Insurance-right now I have the SVT and the Prelude, both covered under comprehensive coverage for $175 a month -how bad does it hit a 21 yr old? By the way, this is in Minnesota.
I know I'm new around here, but I could use some idea of how I can find the best ride I can.
