Found an old sin of mine at christmas!

The quality of the pics isn't the best, but rather than not showing any at all you'll have to bear with that. Italeri SL 300 with their rather lousy tires changed to some Monogram's that looked better. Done in total abscense of putty, CA-glue, liquid cement, air brush/spray cans and BMF. Painted with all Humbrol enamels besides the rear lights and turn signals that where finished with overhead pencils, very high tech at that time Still when I see it I'm kind of pleased with my effort, considering the age and material used. It's some 15-20 years old and it still looks like I left it at my parents.

Wow, nice piece of history there Niclas, both automotive and your personal modeling. If you didn't use an airbrush or spraycans then how did you achieve such an excellent finish?

Not bad at all for such an archeological find! It's in such fine condition!

Is the white just bare plastic, then?

Re: Found an old sin of mine at christmas!

Thank's to all of you.
The car was made in some coloured plastic, can't remeber what!? Had one hell of a time getting the white to cover, rather thin layers of paint and some sanding in between. Don't know how many layers there is...many as you all can imagine! Saw this series of articles in a Swedish motor magazine where they restored a 300 SL. Think I still have these magazines laying around somewhere? Maybe it's time to snoop up another one and see how it turns out today. With all fancy stuff I got today together with a bunch of new skills it should be an improvment.
