Question 1991 astro AWD front driveshaft interchanges?

I'd like to know if a 1991 Chevy astro AWD front GKN CV type front driveshaft that goes in between the transfer boxes is interchangeable with a 1992-1997 front driveshaft with the u-joints. Is it a direct swap? Thanks.

Don't know about interchanging but I have a thought on the subject. A few years ago, I needed a front drive shaft while I was living in Roanoke, VA. GM wanted $1000.00 for a new shaft.

Someone suggested I go to Salem-Spring (a spring shop in the ajoining town of Salem, VA).

They fabricated a drive shaft that has been just great and with grease fittings that didn't exist on the original one. The total cost was around $350.

Hope this helps someone!
