Re: t-top installation

i dont really understand the question. are you replacing a broken or missing glass panel from a car equipped with T-tops, or are you trying to install T-tops on a hardtop (coupe) camaro?

Aftermarket T Tops are expensive and almost always guaranteed to leak.

Re: t-top installation

You can find used t-tops at salvage yards, and they aren't really that expensive. I think it's more expensive to actually have it changed over if you buy used t-tops than the t-tops themselves.

Re: t-top installation

but its an expensive process to have done.. i know a couple of custom shops here in town quoted my buddy $1500-2000 for his 87 camaro so i pretty much gave up hope on my car..

Re: t-top installation

4th generation cars are rather easy to convert from hardtop to t-tops, because unlike previous generations the car is designed AROUND the t-tops and not the hardtop. Any competent mechanic can pull it off, usually for around $1500-2000. That isn't so bad considering the option was origininally $1200. Your other option is just find another car that already has factory t-tops.

And don't let anyone discourage you about t-tops leaking, I've had them on my third gen for a few years now and I've only had one problem with them, which was quickly resolved with new weatherstripping.
