EVO/Eclipse motor swap

Just kind of curious for some general knowledge on the subject. I was wondering about the swapping an EVO VII-VIII motor into a 95 Eclipse GSX. If anyone out there has any info on it please let me know. Thanks guys.

Re: EVO/Eclipse motor swap

It's just a question, I didn't say I was doing it. But who wouldn't I want an EVO powered Eclipse? I mean I know that they have essentially the same powerplant. But having the brand spankingly new 4G63 in a car that I already love (design, layout, Time [blood, sweat, tears]) would be like having a rebirth for my car. So why ask why? Just give me the damn answers to my questions! Haha, Just messing around. Any more info from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas.

I think it would just be easier to get a low milage engine then fully build it up and drop it right in less work and money.

Re: EVO/Eclipse motor swap

it would be ridicolousy expensive and require TONS of custom work since the engine is backwards (cam gears on passenger side instead of drivers side like eclipse) if you want a new 4g63 just get a new eclipse engine from mitsubishi it would only cost 2k-3k and would drop right in

ya because if work and money wasnt an issue. an eclipse engine would still be better it would just be a factory fit everything would be alined more even the way it was intended to. so in either case money is an issue or isnt the eclipse 4g63 would be better.

Re: EVO/Eclipse motor swap

Well okay Mr. Smartypants. You didn't have to anlyze my question into complete and utter idiosy. It was and always has been just a question. So if need be have Jake Vogul (AF Admin) delete this post. Then I'm sure you would be happy as a lark. Haha, I'm just joking around dude. Didn't mean to stir any feathers, just felt like going on a rant. Take care and thanks for the info.

Re: EVO/Eclipse motor swap

If money and work aren't an issue, why drive an Eclipse?

I thought the EVOVIII swap was not possible due to everything on the engine being reversed..

Number of VR4s at 10s or better->10 maybe

Number of 4g63 powered cars in the same range-> multitudes
