Unhappy Live Wire?????????

O.K. here is the situation, I will try to explain the best I can. We have an 84 s10 blazer the other day my husband was checking the fuse panel to see if a fuse was blown because the driver side parking lights were out and the bulb was fine, but when he was done touching things maybe he shouldn't there was a green wire just dangling there. He was not sure were it went or if it was always like that so he left it Yesterday in the A.M. when he was heating the cat up for work he said something blew and the headlights went out and the battery power lowered substantially, and it is a brand new battery, he also just put in a new alternator(i I do not know if that has anything to do with this). So I guess what I am asking is does anyone have an frickn idea what happened or what that green wire is to. My husband is going to try to fix it this weekend, but I am begging for some ideas before he blows the whole electrical system (he usually is very compitent at repairing the car but.....). Also I have been messed over so many times by repair shops I would rather we try to do it ourselves.
Thanks for your help!!!!

Re: Live Wire?????????

ok lemmie see if this is correct. You had a "green" one hanging, and when your pussy (cat) was getting hot something blew and your lights went out.all power immediately was drained.Well I dont know about all that stuff but my bLAZER (small B) has about 50 wires hanging so if you want to swap em you can try mine for a while.
