Spyder

Is this car good? I'm a big fan of them and would like to consider one in the future.

Re: Spyder

No... They suck... Your best bet is to get an 89 Civic hatch... Put a wing and hood scoop on it. There fast as hell and look damn good when you do that. WTF dude... Its called a search... We know nothing about you... Thats not a Eclipse/Talon/Laser so why are you posting in here. Your wasting space by putting a completely pointless thread on here. Look it up... Its an Honda S2000. I personally wouldnt get one because well its a Honda. Wow...

Re: Spyder

um....not sure 4g but i think he is talkin about the Spyder Eclipse. I think you should have thought a little harder about that before you posted.

Ive heard some have problems with seals on the convertible top and the top itself.

Re: Spyder

the Eclipse Spyder... moron...

i love my spyder. you have to get the turbo model though, you will be unhappy with the NT one. it is a little heavier than the hardtop, but if you really want to get crazy with it than you can bolt on the GSX tranny and drivetrain [you can't do that with a hard top]. other than that it's a regular GST

Re: Spyder

i had a 12'' JL w6v2 in a small box that was nice sound and little to no rattle, but then i had a 10'' Alpine S in a bandpass that rattled it to shit. i'm still fighting with insurance to find out how much $$ i'm getting from them...

Wow, did you get sand in your vagina???

What the fuck, calm down. He was asking about the Eclipse Spyder (the convertable, if you didn't know). Also, the S2000 is not called a Spyder.

Now, to answer the initial poster's question. I love mine and regardless of it's little quirks, wouldn't trade it for anything. Like boosted said, it is a little heavier than the hardtop, but with a couple of mods (intake, DP, Cat) mine was slightly faster than a hardtop. Yeah the top leaks a little (sometimes), but there is nothing better than mashing that gas and getting thrown back into the seat with the top down

I agree with Vince and Syperturbo. I love my spyder. I Hardtops are nice cars. But its an awesome feeling to "mash the gas and have the top down."

Even just normal driving when its nice out is fun. I always have people staring at my car.

Thanks for the advice guys, i meant the eclipse spyder, not the S2000, thats just my sig. I thought by the topic title "Spyder" and in the Eclipse section that it would kind of be obvious what car i was talking about :P

You know, now that you put it that way, I wouldn't mind having one myself. I haven't wanted one because of leaky top issue, and interior noise.

Calm down buddy! Take a deep breath and then look at the thread topic. It says "Spyder" it has nothing to do with the S2000, thats just the pic in his sig!

To be completely honest, my top very rarely leaks (actually..now that I had it repainted, I only drive it when it is sunny so it's never in the rain ). When it was my daily driver it would leak once in a while. It was never bad though. You might have a little water on the passinger seat but that was the extent of the leak. I just kept a roll of paper towels in the trunk. I don't know about the other guys on here with spyders, but it was never bad. It's not like I was cleaning water out of the carpet every time it rained.

My old top leaked like a SOB ....But that was because it was falling apart. Apparently the person who owned the car before me didnt care for the top very well. And from I was told you should not put the top down with it even the slightest bit wet i.e after a wash. That will cause the top to change color and the stitching to rot.

But after I changed my top my car is leak free. Not a drip in the rain now.

it would suck to get water in your car cause then when you have it stay there over night with the windows closed you must get a mold smell in the morning that must suck.

It was really never bad in mine ether. Like when it would rain u would get like one drip every 2-3 min. Now after we got those hurricanes down here in florida, back to back my car smelled bad. But its a convertable so just put the top down and let it air out after some hours
