Re: oil pressure
not that it is high. its just look high cause the gauge is a smaller gauge. my s10 reads around 40 and is almost to the high point of the gauge. I looked at a audi pressure it was at 40 and the needle was close to the bottom. but the gauge was a bigger gauge then the one I had in my truck

Re: oil pressure
if it works don't question it. To much oil pressure will only hurt if the oil doesn't flow back into the pan fast enough, allowing it to suck dry

oil pressure
the reason oil pressure on chevys always seems so high is because the oil pressure sending units are junk. they get clogged up and at idle they appear to be working fine but as soon as you hit the gas they go off the charts. if you replace the unit ($30.00, and is easy) this should fix your problem until the new one gets clogged somewhere down the line and starts doing the same darn thing again.

its actually not that bad, jus cause im used to my eclipse it is turbo n they run at low pressure at idle almost no pressure it seems so when it sits around 50 or so in my truck it seems strange to me

Re: oil pressure
Was told this by a old gm rep. The GM gauges are set up to have the reading needle in the middle of the gauge scale for normal operation. While driving a quick scan will show most gauge readings in the middle so the driver knows all is good
