A/C Control (fan speed) problems
I have a '94 JGC Laredo V8 5.2L and it has a problem with the A/C fan control knob.
When turning it on, only works on speed 3, but does not in the 1 and 2. I went to a Jeep Dealer and they replaced the Fan resistor and it worked for about 6 months. After that, I had the same problem. Something is burning the Resistance, but I don't want to spend US$50 every 6 months replacing the part. Any idea what may be happening?. Thanx, Hiroshi |

Re: A/C Control (fan speed) problems
Thanks for your suggestion.
I contacted the Dealer and told me there is no TSB related with that part (#4720278). He told me also that the warranty covered only 3 months, and recommend changing the piece again and that "should work again for a while" :s. Any other recommendation is welcome. Regards, Hiroshi |

Re: A/C Control (fan speed) problems
Have someone, with a dvm and the know how, check the current draw on the circuit in all speeds.
not sure what the spec is but compare it to another vehicle High current draw could be caused by a short in the motor or rotating resistance from tight bearings or possibly something in the fan. JD |
