My 1992 Grand AM A/C Heater blower stopped working yesterday. I seem to think it was only working on the high setting for a while, but had been to busy to investigate further till I got in my car after work yesterday and it wasn't working at all.
I know there is heat because after about 20 minutes the car starts to warm up in the passenger compartment. I've read on here it might be the blower motor resistor, does this sound like the problem here? thanks |

Re: 1992 Grand AM A/C-heater blower
That sounds like it exactly. When the resistor went on my '99, the blower would only operate on its highest setting. I don't know the '92s well, but on the '99s it's a simple job and the resistor sits right behind the blower.

How hard is it to replace the blower motor?

Re: 1992 Grand AM A/C-heater blower
Not hard at all. Just find the blower fan and remove it. Usually located up under the dash on the passenger side. The resistor is located next to the fan. Held in by a couple of bolts. Remove it re-place it and then put the fan back in. The worst part of the whole thing is getting up under the dash to get to the fan.
