Re: temp. gage ????
Did you check the coolant and look under the Jimmy for any leaks? Check oil level as well.

Re: temp. gage ????
how fast does the guage go from 220 to 260?
I'd say the thermostat is sticking, but putting it into Drive would have no effect on it Does the fan seem to be turning alright? |

Re: temp. gage ????
Fan is fine. The gauge goes up as soon as I back out of my driveway and stays on.Once in awhile it will go back down to 220 and the CHECK GAUGE light goes off but not for long.If the thermosat is sticking how do I fix it???

Re: temp. gage ????
If it was the thermostat sticking, you would simply have to buy a new thermostat and put it in.
In the front of the engine, you will see where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine. That piece bolted onto the engine (where the hose goes into) is the water pump. Take that pump off and the thermostat should be right there. It sits in the passage-way that the water goes through. Let me know if that doesn't make any sense and I will try and explain it again. |
