Question shift to 4 wheel drive

last year I hit a deer on the right side I have a brush guard and still did 5000 in damage its winter and for the first time I tried to shift to 4 wheel auto 4hi 4lo the light just flashes for about 30 sec and goes back to 2 hi what could be the cause of this I don't know much about cars .

check the 4x4 fuse on the drivers side open door and behind steering wheel. according to year. mine did same thing at one time and it was a fuse.

You didn't mention the year, but the right side under the battery is where the vacuum actuator is located. Maybe the body shop didn't repair it correctly or left something off.

I had the exact same concern, the vacuum hose to the servo under the battery was disconnected. The light keeps flashing until the front axle engages or it gives up.

bet ya 10 bucks its fuse exact same thing happen to me a few months ago.. dont ask me why it blew... no idea but hasnt blown since.

Sorry it took so long to reply wife was in hospital thanks for the info I will check it out right away.
