Circle filter to COnE filter?!?

I got a carb engine. It has the circle filter right around the carb, then from there, there is a tube that go out to the front of my car.
I was thinkin...Using the cone filter off my brother's Integra(He bought an "Ingen" intake but no longer uses it) Puting that cone filter on the end of the tube and taking the circle filter off. What do yall think good idea?
i tried it and it has a vroom sound, but someone told me that it will just suck more air in. I know it sounds ok, but if your sure it doesn't fucc with my air and fuel ratio then leave me a suggestion.
