when im on the freeway, would going fast like around 70-80 waste gas? Cause everytime i go on the freeway my gas just goes away . i have a 2.4 96 extended cab tacoma

Look at the RPM. High RPM = waste of gas.

Drive easy like you have an egg under your foot. Keep windows closed, inflate your tires to the maximum pressure allowed. Make sure the engine is tuned and has clean filters. Not recommended, but tail gating 18 wheelers will help. The best way to save fuel is slow down. You already knew these answers didn't you? There is no real magic formula for saving gas, remember most trucks have a big front that has to be pushed through the air.

Nice recommendations.

But here's a neat thing you can do. I just realized this, but some OBD scanner will tell you the realtime MPG. I'm not sure if the ECM or the scanner calculates this, but on my scanner it shows the MPG updated every second. I imagine that this is calculated from the speed, and the amount of gas being injected. The speed and the amount of gas injected will vary depending on the road conditions, and how much you step on it.

So, (and I haven't done this yet, because I don't have a laptop or time to,) if you do this a couple times on the roads that you normally take, you can monitor the realtime MPG, and make a note of how fast you can go without wasting gas.

On-Board Diagnostics scanners. They read the outputs from the ECM. There are PC interfaces that I know of like, http://www.obddiagnostics.com/ or http://www.ghg.net/dharrison/ I have the second one, but I think I could have gotten the first and gotten the exact same info I needed to fix a problem I've been working on.
