Re: Wheel HOP.

Suspension is a big part of it, so is uerethane motor mounts. Both helped get rid of wheel hop on my AWD.

How much do the motor mounts cost where would you buy them and are they easy to change yourself. just do 1 at a time while supporting the engine?

Re: Wheel HOP.

Not sure how they work on a NT. For the turbo 2g, you buy the set from any DSM vendor that carries them for about 80 bucks. The front and rear are inserts, the side two require removing the stock rubber/sleeve and installing the new sleeveless inserts (easiest way is to have a machinist press them old stuff out for 10 bucks, then install the new ones in a vice). 1g is the same thing, but the rear is also a full replacement. No idea on the NTs

Re: Wheel HOP.

You can buy inserts, you can also get solid motor mounts from AFX. Or you can take 3m windo weld (its urathene in a can) and fill them yourself. I am doing this right now. I did the front one yesterday and it helped a bit, but it is still terrible. I am doing the rear today hopefully it will be gone or almost gone.

Re: Wheel HOP.

you may just be losing traction a bit in the rain, not really hopping. i can see how it could be mistaken.

Re: Wheel HOP.

I would say it's your struts. I had that happen to me and it was because they where blown out. So every time i would turn the tire felt like it was hopping like a ball.

+1 Wet or dry mine don't have good traction in 1st and 2nd, because of my tires. I'm guessing it wouldn't be a bad idea to change out the motor mounts, anyway.
