I was just wondering if anyone knew how hard it would be to to swap a 350 to a 454 in a 1978 el camino

it should be rather smoth transfer might have pobs with room but it has been done before i think it will be ok no major prob's

Make sure you check clearence for your headers/Its possible you you will run in to other probs.
