Re: What Kind Of Axle??

look on thetop off the axle on pasenger side. front is always a dana 35, and rear can be a dana 35, or a dana 44, on 4.0l it is usally a dana 44, this is if every thing is is the same from when u bought it

Re: What Kind Of Axle??

I think you mean front is always a dana 30 and rear is usually dana 35.some 87-89 xjs had dana 44s in the rear but most where 35s.I have really only seen 44s in 87 xjs the later ones could have 35 or chrysler 8-1/4

Re: What Kind Of Axle??

Dana 44s in the rear are pretty rare but you for sure have a D30 high pinion front and the D35 rear will have an oval cover and the D44 will be a hexagon cover. also 4.0l means nothing to the axle it depends if they ordered the factory tow package. But I would bet you got a D35 rear.
