Re: my 84 z

I don't think you could even keep up with me if you had 10 miles. Not to diss. But i'm running a 350 with head / cam and header package , holley projection tbi intake , custom 3" exhaust magna flow cat , hi-flo muffler , shift kit , 3.73 gear , .30 over , hypertech chip , shift kit , 100 lbs weight reduction , emissions and ac removal , light weight fly , custom ram intake , lunati control module ,too much to list really. I would really like to go up against a turbo 8 and see if just mechanical power as it is would compete with it.

Re: my 84 z

Your black looks nice , Mines a nasty purple haze with a f**** up door , and a ugly ass sanding job on the primer / bondo . Ordered a new door though. As long as you don't look at the driver side , My car looks nice. I want to get it sprayed soon before summer hits I just can't decide between like a flat black or a cherry color.

Re: my 84 z

i dont think your 350 could take my last 84 z28...it was a vortec headed 357 cu in with a performer rpm vortec intake...comp cams extreme energy 274h cam,3310 750 holley,10:1 compression backed by a t56 with spohn suspension,83 fiberglass hood and the car was a stripper to begin with...power nothing

Re: my 84 z

I use a 4" cowl induction hood , My motor was crate 350 4 bolt torture tested at 5500 rpm to 291 Hp at the crank. Long before any mods hit it. I'm building it up and keeping it as a daily driver. Or I would have gotten insane with it already and been pouding 450 RWHP with a 383 stroker. The head and cam package I threw on my 350 offered a lot over the stock , the tbi unit I am going to keep on because it is simple to work with or I would have thrown a dual intake on with two weiand carbs. I need to pass emissions sometimes though =D Nice little rooster tail. I leave about a 80 - 100 foot burn with white smoke everywhere. I hate doing it but it makes me feel so good and sick when the smell finally comes inside :s

Re: my 84 z

My 700r4 can't handle too much more power O.o i think its dying as it is..if a manual swap wasn't so compli cated I'd do it but..I think I might go with a turbo 350 , I've heard they can handle around 600 hp going through them. Haven't verified this either but will be looking into it when I throw mine.

Re: my 84 z

A stock one but I was going to get a built crate motor from Rerformace Industries. its supposed to push over 530 HP at the crank , I wouldn't be able to do it though with a 700r4 with out building it up more. I've already got high stal , shift kit , ho flow system but it's not going to be enough. The Ls1 is only better because of newer technology. The 383 is an old skewl motor. Speaking of motors...I want a 442..
