Fan Blower only works on High

I have a 98 astro and the Fan Blower only works on High, 1,2 and 3 do not work. I checked the fuses and they are ok. Is there a low speed fan relay somewhere?

Please Help.
Tim

Re: Fan Blower only works on High

You either have a bad resistor block or the fan speed selector switch is bad. The resistor block is under the hood on top of the box that has the A/C coils (Left side).

Good luck

Thanks, I will take a look. Is there any way of jumpering the resistor?

Re: Fan Blower only works on High

If you jumpered the resistors, you'd just get High speed anyway. The block runs less than $10.00. If I remember correctly, I found it at Advance Auto. One plug connector (Approx 5-6 wires to it) and two screws and it was done.

Re: Fan Blower only works on High

your blower motor resistor is no good
high speed fan runs thru a relay and not
thru the resistor
