1992 300zx air bag light flashing?

i have a 1992 300zx non-turbo and the air bag light flashes constantly. does anyone know why or how to stop it from flashing. i have checked the fuses and they are good.

Did this happen all the sudden or did you buy the car with it like this?
If you bought the car like this then chances are it may have been wrecked or someone may have unplugged the bag for some reason.

Go in and have it checked by a certified mechanic, If you don't know what your doing you could blow the bag.

Albert not can blow your bag..... how about WILL blow the bag. And a 92...... thats going to SUCK! chemical pnuemonia from those if your not careful. Or it could break your neck if your in the car wrong and it deploys. I hate working on airbag problems just becuase all the things I have seen them do. We fired one off under a Fiesta and it lifted the car 3 inches off the ground! Granted we put it face down and it didnt have a steering wheel or a dash to deal with.

Odds are the cars over 10 years old Supplimental restraints are only good for 10 years anyway its probly a shorted wire or hirer than normal resistance in the circuit. I wouldnt worry about it suddenly deploying. Most manufacturers worked that out in the 70s.

(Side note: Volvo invented the 3 point seat belt in use in all cars today, and the crumple zone.)

well there has to be a way to read the air bag code? which will tell me what is wrong?

i have the same problem but mine is a bit difference in how it started. my car was wrecked but the bag didn't diploy. i unplugged the sensor in the front while i was working on the car. i connected the battery with it still unplugged and noticed the light so plugged it back in after i finished the front work but it still blinks non-stop. i have a few friends that work at paint and body shops and they say when they have a car that had the bag deployed they have to bring the car to the dealership after they replace all the bags and sensors. i guess for insurance purposes the body shops aren't allowed to reset whatever is making the light blink. i'm not finished with my car so i won't take it in until i have everything done.

Redline808- on these cars unfortantly no there isnt a way to read airbag codes. They dont have a real memory.

Shaddoe- It is a insurance thing, if a bag has been tripped but not deployed it has to be replaced or deactivated to keep it from deploying but if it has been deactivated you have to have it noted by a insurance adjuster and such and then your rates WILL go up. I have had freinds sale their airbags over ebay and make a pretty good profit from it too.
