4wd 1995 Ram
hello,
i have a 95 dodge ram, v8 318. my question is what type of 4wd does it have? the truck didn't come with an owners manual. it has the floor shifter. also, do i have to be in neutral to change from 2wd to 4wd (hi and low)? |

Re: 4wd 1995 Ram
It's likely got the shift-on-the-fly system, try it at about 10miles per hour, go smoothly from 2wd to 4Hi. You'll have to stop or move slowly to go from 4hi to 4lo, and probably have the trans in neutral.

Re: 4wd 1995 Ram
Just play around with it some, but don't break it.

Re: 4wd 1995 Ram
this is what my manual says,
to go from 2 wd to 4 hi, wile moving, let off the gas, pull the levar into 4 hi. to go to 4 lo, wile moving (must be moving slowly like less than 5 mph) put trans in N, and move 4x4 shifter to 4 lo, then put trans back in drive. to go from 4lo to 2wd, (again wile moving slowly 5mph or less) put trans in N, move 4x4 shifter from 4lo to 2wd, then put trans back in drive. hope this helps ya out some, Keith
