This may sound stupid, and I could be wrong, but it is worth a try.
I had the same problem on my Silverado, and it turned out I didnt have the passenger side doors shut tight. Mine only had three doors, and the third door wasnt shut tight, which also ment the front door wasnt either.
It sounded just as you described, like wind coming through around the windshield.
Give it a shot.

This happened to me after installing a bug shield on my 2004......the difference in the airflow over the truck caused the side windshield moldings to "flap" at 60mph and above. You can isolate the problem with a roll of electrical tape and then do a permanent fix with some double sided tape or silicone.

I have a '99 that has the exact same problem and it is the third door not closing properly. I could never figure it out until I finally checked the door and found it was not closed tightly. I have found the 3rd door to be a real problem for not shutting tight unless it is slammed shut. I happened to bring it in to the dealer today for that and they want $220 to install a new latch system, which I think is ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, GM should replace it for free if it is a defective design.

2004 Siverado Regular cab 1500 2WD. I also had installed bug shield and had immediate noise. It is the moulding around the windsheild. GM has a service bullitian out. Unsure of number. The company that installed the sheild states his local dealer is sending all to a local glass shop for a fix.

I have not had mine fixed because it shakes and have been advised by the dealer that it cannot be fixed. At 1000 to 1500 miles I developed a vibration between 60 to 75 mph. I now have 2000 miles on the vehicle. Cannot be fixed. Awaiting possible buy back. Hope you do not become one of the many 99-2004 Silverado owners who have joined "Club Shake".

Re: Possible wind noise?

I have a 04 2500 4x4 extended cab and have the exact same noise. The noise sounds like a cross between wind and a constant valve clatter. I just took it to the dealer to have it checked out and they said it was normal. I have ridden in a lot of Chevys and it isn't normal. I'm taking it to a different dealer to get a second opinion.

Re: Possible wind noise?

Yes, the bug deflectors cause this. The local shop here used a bead of silicone under the window moulding to make it stop.

Re: Possible wind noise?

Is it usually on the top or bottom of the molding?

You would want to run a small bead under the molding. You should be able to slide the tip of the applicator under the moulding. When you're done, you can't even see it.
