I am doing some major overhauls on my 2001 Tib, and after paying off my new rims, the next step is my exhuast. I am doing the cat back exhaust increasing the size from factory to 2.25inch piping. Now my question is how much of a difference is it if I get the mandel bend versus staying with the 90 degree bend. I was talking with the guy at the exhaust place and he told me that since I am going with a bigger pipe it will not make that big of a difference. Then I read people saying that if you dont do the mandel you are not solving the problem in the first place. Plus ever shop I seem to run across cant do it (Orlando area). Who is right?
PLus I was hoping someone could give a suggestion on high flow tips. Does anyone know of some good companies that make them and does anyone know what the length it needs to be so the tip is flush with the bumper? |

Re: Exhaust Question?
the less bends the better...
and the smoother the bends the better so you want to go with a custom exhaust?.. youll have to find a place that can do that.. it honestly should nt be that expensive.. everyone i spoke to that went custom loves it and never looked back

Re: Exhaust Question?
Mandel bent doesn't have to do with the degree of the turn. You can have a 90 degree mandel bent pipe. Mandel bent just means that the diameter is consistent throughout the bend. If it is not mandel bent the bends will come out to be oddly shaped, sort of like an oval. If it is not Mandel bent it SLIGHTLY restricts exhaust flow. Alot of shops can't do mandel bends but I personally don't see it to be TOO big of a deal and unless you are building a full drag car you probably won't be able to notice any difference.
And like nisco said the less bends the better.

Re: Exhaust Question?
your going to want it as strait as you can get it, the shorter the distance the exhaust has to travel the better off you are... the right price range should be anywhere between 500 and 800 dollars for a good quality system anymore then that and you better be getting the top of the line...

Re: Exhaust Question?
if your paying any more than $400 for a full custom exhaust you are getting ripped off, and that is including the price of the can.

I bought an Injen exhaust for my 04 tiburon. It sounds great. I also paid 650 for it (regularly 900 or so)
