Re: jdm b16a turbo problems

do you mean the motor will not crank at all? as in the starter does not click on? and did you have the swap working before you went and installed the turbo kit? this helps eliminate some of the problems.. next step is seeing what you wired up to what, and if the starter/battery/ECU were wired correctly or not..

Re: jdm b16a turbo problems

im just curious, did you swap then test to see if you had problems, or you just installed everything at one time?

Re: jdm b16a turbo problems

you put the turbo on and it didnt work? well, i personally dont think you should even have a problem if all you did was put the turbo on. the turbo does not have any affect on the engine starting. have you checked for any wiring you may have knocked off? do you even have electrical (ex. your lights are on)? have you even checked starter, distributor, wires, plugs, battery, harness wiring, ecu wiring, etc, etc, etc (all the obvious stuff)?

because you need to check the obvious....................cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires.

im going to share a story with you.

about 4 years ago after installing my JRSC and JR bandaids, my car ran fine for about 3 months. One day, it just stopped starting up. it would out of the blues start up sometimes, but, not for long. I sat in the garage for about 4 months, during the time, i was trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I swapped out the ecu, dizzy, spark plugs, wires, battery, alternator, starter. i checked every imaginable wiring under the hood to the ecu. from the jr bandaids to the injectors for any breaks or kinks in the hoses to the fuel pump wiring. One day i decided to pull out the ecu and open it up. when i went to unscrew the bolts, i saw a wire that looked kinda loose by the ecu wiring that i already checked and resoldered (i forgot exactly which one). I gave it a good solder and started up the engine. I never had a problem since.

give the wiring a detailed inspection. hope its just the wiring

Re: jdm b16a turbo problems

you say it wont crank, nothing to do with the dist.

try charging your battery and then try starting it, if it still doesnt crank then take your starter out and hook it up to the charger and see if you can get it to throw out the pinion and spin, if not then get a new one. if it was a dead battery and it does this again have your alternator tested.
