Just bought an '04, anything I need to know

I just bought my wife an '04 Grand Am Se with 13,500 miles on it. Total cost is ~11,250. We are replacing her '03 Tiburon because it has turned into a money pit, that 10yr 100k mile warranty isn't all its cracked up to be . Is there any known issues with this year that could come up in the future? I hate surprised so thats why I am asking. This was a GM program car and still comes with the 3yr 36k mile warranty.

Any information would be nice,

Thanks

-MOR

FYI: Problems with her Tiburon after 1.5 years and 23k miles
-new tires/align - $700
-new clutch - $650
--while working on the clutch determined the flywheel was toast - $730 (just for the part) still waiting to get the grand total of this problem
-new instrument cluster - warranty

The clutch work is being done in a shop in IN. The dealership wanted 1200+ in DC before we found the flywheel problem.

Re: Just bought an '04, anything I need to know

I have an '01 Grand Am GT, and.....

If it is the 3.4, the intake manifold gasket tends to suck. Auto tranny sucks. Keep the fluid fresh and it will be fine.

Otherwise, it has been a great car. Still looks good, and drives fine. Suspension has lost its really smooth ride, but still nothing to worry about. Mine has 65,000 miles on it.
