looking for the source of a clunking/rattling noise coming from the area of the passenger side door. My thoughts are the noise is from the hinges of the door or something under the vehicle in this area or perhaps from interior of van wall...it is hard to determine and isolate any idea's or similar situations??

After checking out my rear sway bar links and bushings (which looked fine) and cleaning out some gravel from above the heat shield which is above the catalytic converter the rattle was still present. With nothing else to suspect it had to be the rear shock. Changed both and rattle is now gone.

Re: 1999 caravan clunking/rattling noise from passanger door area
Thanks for replying. Same exact problem. Somehow both rear shocks, bushings and bolts were damaged. I have no idea how the bolts got damaged, but they were bent and need to be replaced. it not like i take my van off road or anything...
The Repair guy was amazed at the fact that the bolts were bent. My van is now in the shop and getting it repaired. We got it figured out. Thanks
