Question Something is very wrong.

Ok, a couple of days ago I rebuilt my throttle body. The car worked fine for a day until yesterday. Now the transmission will only shift at or around 3500 rpm. And it shifts hard (the car will shake). Could this be a result from rebuilding the throttle body. I was thinking that mabye the TPS is bad. I really need your guys help. Thanks.

Re: Something is very wrong.

I didn't have that problem when I did up my TBI unit. Then again , I know what I'm doing =D

Check to make sure you have all your vacuum lines secured , Make sure all electrical connections are secure. I don't see how that would mess with the transmission..maybe the TC is going out..You have an old car. If it just started to happen , Not when you rebuilt it but days later , I'd venture to say the problem is elsewhere other than the throttle body or anything related to it. Doesn't make sense. Could also have a slipper. Who knows , try running it for codes see if you get a ecm response.

Re: Something is very wrong.

if his car is shifting like that its a tv cable on the 700r4...they are picky when you undo the cable and can come out of adjustment

you can also talk to dana from probuilt transmission on thirdgen.org...he has been a real helpful guy for others

Re: Something is very wrong.

Well, it was the TV cable. The TV cable wasn't even connected. Now it's fine and I am pretty sure I don't have and transmission damage.
