99 Taurus thermostat

Where in the world is the thermostat? My temperature gauge goes down as I'm driving. If I'm in town and driving slow it warms and blows out hot air, but on the highway, the temperature goes down.

Thermostat is in housing that your upper radiator hose connects to on the engine....easy access....I would guess your thermostat is stuck open.

Thanks and yes it was stuck. I did pay to have it replaced, but it was worth the $30 since we have tons of snow and cold temps. I think it had been stuck for awhile because it was very slow in warming.
I'm still learning!
