Break Lights go out.
I have a 2000 jeep grand cherokee, just had the door latch replaced at the dealers. now the brake lights are not working. they where working before the dealers. when I press on the breaks, the lights go off. the top third light does work. any suggestions? fuse, bulbs or dealer coincidence.

Re: Break Lights go out.
I'd take it back to the dealer and tell them about it. What lights go off when you press the brakes? I would guess a fuse or a wire if none of the brake lights work. If only the third brake isn't working, I would check the bulbs. F.Y.I. it's Brakes, not breaks.

wow, that's a disturbing trend I have noticed with way too many vehicles these days, brake lights not working, since you've paid for it get the dealer to fix it right for sure, don't leave until they get it right!!

Re: Break Lights go out.
Yeah it is a trend......lucky for me, because occasionally one of my light bulbs in my 3rd brake light assembly won't work. I just tap on the cover and it works again. Eventually I'll find the time to properly seat the bulb.
