learning a new car...Chrysler 300

Hey yall...I haven't started back on that other thing yet, but I will soon. I normally loosen up before I work...I even sketch before I do digital work. The lossening is a more a mental exercise and helps me focus more on "art" in general regardless of delivery modality (what type). Tonight I randomly grabbed a Motor Trend I had sittin around and opened it to a page with a Chrysler 300 on it, and decided to learn the 300 in toon sketch form from this angle.

30 minutes later this happened:

I may never use these for anything, but the lesson learned is invaluable. For 30 minutes I put all my focus in the toon form of this car from this angle. I saw many subtleties that made me smile as I danced around its lines.

I'm not a huge 300 fan but I saw 50 Cent had one on the Funk Master Flex show, and there's another parent that drives one and drops off her kid at school in it everyday as I drop off my son, so I have a little deal for it. It lacks the racing spirit that the original established on Daytona Beach, but it does look kinda cool with dubs and a rake.

Just ramblin...sorry...ooooh maybe I'll draw a Rambler next....hahahahaha

Nice! Always glad to see artwork from you. I like the style, expecially the one on the far right... the way the whole car slopes inward towards the bottom really gives it a toony feel. Doing any rendering to this one?

Alex

I agree w/ Alex. the far right top one looks cleaner, cooler, and far more toon-E-ish

here's more:

My son says he's gonna get a 1957 VW so his will be older than mine http://www.58vw.com

So I sketched a future for him.. He was pleased, he loves side skirts:

Today I did a 2005 Ford Freestyle to loosen up:

Now back to that TA

I'm amazed at the detail you put into your thumbnails.

Mine aren't even half as developed as yours.
