2 "Races"

I fooled around with 2 BMWs last Friday. I got a headache so I'm not gonna get into too many details.

The first one was a 750IL, the older model. I was passing someone in the fast lane, when I saw him coming up from behind me. As I was trying to move over so he can pass, he flies over two lanes into the slowest lane so that he can pass everyone all at once. When I see this, I gun it just to see what's gonna happen, and he pretty much stays even with me the whole time but has to slow down and get behind me because someone is in his lane. When my lane clears, I move over and hit it going about 75, beginning of third. I slowly pulled away from him about a car length to 110, put it in fourth and it stayed there to 125 before I slowed down again because of a few cars in front of us. I let him pass me and got behind him. I knew as soon as it cleared up, he'd try to get away from me. When he did, I punched it too but had to slow down a little not to hit his rear end. When I put it in 4th, it pretty much stayed even the whole time to 130. He took the next exit without even looking over, and I was just gonna give him thumbs up.

The second race was against a newer 325i. I was in the fast lane passing someone and he was swerving left and right passing everyone. When he got behind me, I just punched it. He tried to keep up but by 120 he was a buslength behind me I slowed down and let him pass so that I could get behind him. Once traffic cleared up again, I let him first. I moved over and once again dusted him by a few cars to 120.

Then he flew by me after I had already beaten him twice

A few minutes later it started snowing, and that was it for this 600 mile trip.

Re: 2 "Races"

So your saying the second guy did a fly-by? LOL, too funny. I guess I can say nice kills. Even though the first race you guys were fairly even. Late...

Re: 2 "Races"

On my drive yesterday, I was TRYING to fool around with an M roadster, but it was difficult because traffic was heavy...there were a couple of times where he'd punch it, and I'd punch it too to try to stay with him, and he didn't pull away from me that bad considering he had the jump...oh well.

Re: 2 "Races"

Nice kills, but I'll take a Bimmer over a Honda in the twisties any day. Sure, they may not be as fast in the 1/4 as an LS1ed car, or may not have an autocross time like an EVO or STi, and sure, they aren't as luxurious as a Bently, but only a BMW can combine all of those qualities in a rather intoxicating blend. *Sigh* I love my car. I'm gonna go give it a hug.

The older 750's have a 300 hp 5.0 liter V12. They move. They'll pull 170+ if the limiter is removed. You sure he was racing you?

I should have said the older 7 series, not the older 750il. I guess they don't make the 750il anymore. It was the newest 750il

326 hp/ 361 lb/ft of tq.

But they weigh almost 4600 I make about 300 hp at the crank, give or take a few vs. his 326, but I weigh about 1000 lbs less.

And yes I'm sure he was racing because he was getting pissed and just took the next exit like a sore loser. He was flooring it before trying to pass everyone. Why would he slow down all of the sudden when I gave him all that space? I'm sure he would have wanted to show me his driving machine, but that's a hard thing to do when he's behind me losing ground. Third gear takes me to 110, fourth to 147, I wonder how fast I could be going without a limiter (147 mph) still having one gear left.

Ahhhh, nothing like beating the "Ultimate Driving Machine"

And I love the "It'll get you in the twisties" excuse. I think I might put it in my sig. That's like saying "Try racing a truck while towing a car." How many races on this forum have been in the twisties?

You know it's funny that you say that because I drove alongside a new 7 series and a 540 for quite a few miles.

The new Audi A6s look AMAZING in person.
