75 Gran Sport

Ok,
Now, while I realize a 75 Century Gran Sport (is it a Century GS or just a GS?) doesnt really classify as a muscle car, everyone in the Buick standard forum was only talking about "pimping" and "ghettoizing" their 99 - 05 cars out. No offence intended to anyone who likes that sort of thing but I dont fall into that catagory.

To make a long story short, I recently tried to fire the beast up and when it finally caught I got the "klunk, klunk, klunk, klunk" from the engine and my buddy says "oh... looks like you've thrown a piston rod" (or are about to) Now my origional question was, where in heavens name am I going to find another Buick 350?
Then I found out that even if I found a Buick 350 - there are virtually no performance parts to rebuild one with (unless yall know some...)
So, before I jump out and buy a chevy 350 and have to buy an adapter for the transmission (Ive got a standard Buick Trans not compatible with the chevy 350) and whatever else will go wrong, do yall know any site where I can order parts for an old Buick.

Also, I need a new right fender and wheel well. Mines pretty chewed up with an accident and rust.

Thanks so much,
Joshua

Oh yeah, if I couldnt find an old Buick engine first my brother also recommended an old truck engine to build.

350 Info

http://www.v8buick.com

Probably a few 350's there you can get dirt cheap. If I hadn't already parted mine out, you could come and get it.

Shame on you for thinking there are no performance tricks for 350's....

one on that site right now laying down 546hp and 506ft. lbs. of torque... normally aspirated

Just don't ask how much it costs

Good Luck

Please don't succomb to putting a Chevy in your car. I know it will be cheaper, but you have options. Poston Enterprise, TA performance are two big names to help rebuild your 350. A friend of mine had a 73 Century a few years ago, and made it into a GS clone, first he started with the 350 and obtained resonable performance. If it was me, I would just find a 455, and drop it in, everything bolts up. The 455 Buick is a torque monster that is the ticket to get your 4100 lb Buick moving. The friend with the 73, eventually found a 455, and without even rebuilding the block just adding cam intake carb and such, averaged high 12's in the quarter, not bad for an 8.5 to 1 455!
