Fuel Pump

Hello everyone...
I need a little help on this
I have been hearing noise coming from the rear area of the car. I have a clue of what it could be, but I am trying to be for sure that it is the fuel pump. It is making a whining noise when I let the car idle, and it gets louder and lower. Also, it sound like the same sound when you turn the ignition to the on position and the fuel pump whine , but it seem like the fuel pump whine continuosly through out the whole time the car is running. What could the actually be?

Re: Fuel Pump

The fuel pump runs continuosly when the car is running - normal.

If it is louder than usual it may be on its way out.
