Engine Swap

Will the 2.3L Engine from a 1979 4 X 2 Courier Swap into a 1983 4 X 4 Ranger which also had a 2.3L Engine? Both trucks have a 4 Speed Trans.

I used A 2.3L out of A 74' or 75'maverick in my 86' 4x4 years ago and it worked just fine bolted right up.I had to change the intake to the one from the truck because it was fuel injected.I still see it around town from time to time.So I would say yes it will work,Lets face it A courier is alot closer to A ranger than A maverick is.
