93 tbird 3.8 temperature gauge reads low

Since the headgasket replacement it constantly reads about blue area on the gauge. I did the simple test in Haynes manual which showed sending unit was bad. After replacement with ford original part still does the same. Any ideas? Thanks for any response!

well does your car give off heat?if so it might just be a bad gauge or needle. or something could be blocking off the sensor

If your car has a cap in the radiator remove it and then put a thermometer in the radiator. Start the car and let it warm up to operating temp and check the thermometer. It should be around 180 degrees. If it doesn't reach that temp then your thermostat might be stuck open. Don't take the cap off of a hot engine unless you want to get burned! Another thing you could try is just replacing the thermostat and seeing what happens. They don't cost that much.
