i need help with installation of LED's
here's my problem... i have a 96 chevy cavalier, definately nothing special, but i have spent almost 1 G on the sound system. i have three 10" MTX 4500's (placed in a row in sledge hammer box) i also have a 1000 watt Eclispe amp.. the trunk is kinda small so it is a tight fit. i wanted to add some LED lighting but i dont know how to install them so they work in the trunk... Please help!

Well First of all, Did you buy the LEDs yet? if so there should be detailed instructions with them. If not then here it is. There is 2 options here. Get Leds that get wired into the parking light (assuming the rule in your state is you can only have them on in park) .or you can get the LEDs that plug right into your cigertte (sp? sorry don't smoke) lighter. If you don't feel like ripping apart the carpet in your truck to find the hole in the firewall and wire everything up then i would opt for the cig lighter ones because all you need to do is mount the Leds and maybe hide the wire and then plug in. I good site to check out is Plasmaglow.com they have nice prices on all their stuff. I just ordered a couple Led lights from there a couple hours ago and i guess ill see if it worth it in a couple days.

Anyways, you could always wire your LEDs to the interior lighting. Most cars have a trunk light and you shouldn't have to do to much to get to it. Plus it only comes on when the trunk opens so you wouldnt have to make a switch. If you really wanted it to look slick I'd shave the trunk light alltogether and use its wireing as your power source. Just remember to have a Multimeter in one hand, and your cars wireing schematics in the other. |

Exactly what I was thinking!
If there's enough juice to the existing trunk light, I'd just scrape the existing unit, and wire in the LEDs... |
