Question Drive axle? Need help please!

I'm havin problems gettin the drive axle in the trany. Its in but it stops about an 1/2 inch shy. I tryed using a broomstick end to hammer on the boot but the boot cracked. Can someone give me some advice to how to get it in.

Re: Drive axle? Need help please!

It comes out esay if u use a pry-bar/screw driver. A little difficult puttin it in, It should slide in if lined up with the threads(may have to use a block of wood and a hammer; hammer the end of the axle(wood against it). It stops about half an in. short of being in so I used a broom stick handle to hit it the rest of the way in>(make sure u have the axle hangin down so u can get the stick up on the top of the boot so it doesn't rip)
