Replacing computer on a '89 Voyager

Hi guys,

I'm helping my father in law work on his '89 Grand Voyager. It's got the 3.0 V6 with about 260k miles. It looks like the computer is dead. I know that they changed part numbers at some point during the year, but I don't know the cutoff. I'm planning on going to a junkyard this week to get one, but I need to know what manufacture dates will have the right computer.

It'd be easier to just buy a new one, but at nearly $180 for a remanufactured one, it's not really worth spending that much.

Any thoughts?

Jonathan

What makes you think the "computer is dead"? Just curious as I've even seen this one misdiagnosed at Dodge dealerships....
