temp gauge

My temp gauge stops working completely and then fixes its self.I have changed temp sending unit and i still have the problem.Does anyone have any ideas?

This is a copy of my previous post.....

My 2001 was having problems with Low Coolant indicator (no real loss of coolant) then temp gage started working intermittantly then finally went south. (Car was still running great) Dealer checked out and said intake manifold had leak. Looks like something going on, ended up dealer replaced sensors, thermostat and intake manifold gaskets (at least $600.00+ bucks) and did not charge me!!! I still have my mouth open.... car has 67000 mi said something about customer relations.... Not looking gift horse in mouth, but this was a first.... Check with your dealer may be a known problem they are trying to take care of.... Never hurts to ask....

Well they must have been celebrating xmas or something at that dealer and booze helped you out.Cuz my dealer was sober and tried to stick it to me and laughed.

my 01 is doing the same thing, try pulling the pcm fuse from the fuse box under the hood, wait a minute and put it back. so far everything is good. The dealership said the car put out a code saying the thermostat needs to be changed. I'll do that later.
