What year is the jeep? Try turning the key on and wait 15-30 seconds this will let fuel pump prime the fuel rail. If you haven't cleaned the throttlebody lately, the air idle control valve maybe in need of cleaning. Since it does this after a over the night stand, the fuel pressure regulator may be leaking pressure back to tank. dale

hi, it sounds like you mave have a bad air idle control valve, this is the sensor on the back of throttlebody, where the slot is inside the throttlsbody bore. dale [email protected]

Re: bad idle once a day

dhop11 - I had the same problem in my 94 5.2L, not every morning but about 60% of the time, I would start the jeep and it would die immediately after starting. if I held the gas pedal for about a minute (RPMs around 1500) it would stay running and run fine, also a couple times right after starting up and holding the gas pedal in for a few seconds I would let off the gas start driving then when I come to a stop it died (this only happened like 3 or 4 times) it slowly got worse to the point it would either die everyday after cold start or would start then idle real low then high and low for about 20 seconds before it would finally settle down. Well I replaced my IAC valve (got it from autozone WELLS brand) and it didn't help so for about 2 weeks it continued doing this - I read in a past post about someone replaced the IAC then the PCM and then the IAAC again before it cured his problem, so I decided I would buy another IAC different brand different store, well I forgot it had a warranty on it so I took it back got a new one and installed it, it's been a week now and I have not had a problem with it starting yet.

hope my story helps

Re: bad idle once a day

GnR - does this only happen when idling and turning the wheel or while pressing the gas pedal and turning?
