Why no superchip for 96-99?

Why is there no after-market performance chip for the 1996 thru 1999. I think there is one for the 95.

THX.

The 1996/99 is an OBD II car. There's no chip available for that. You have to reprogram the PCM. Same thing for the 2001/03.

I recommend opening the trunk with the key,
See if the solenoid is actually moving when you
press the remote or the button on the dash.

If you see it moving, it probably has come loose
and isn't actuating the latch. If you don't see
or hear it move, then unplug the connector to
it and check for voltage between the orange (D)
wire and ground, when the actuator is activated.
Sometimes a test lamp works better than a meter
for this.

If it doesn't light, you probably have a problem with
an open or short in the connector or wire there.
(Connector C200 terminal D6)

Also check and make sure your valet switch is on.
You can pull the harness and check the switch,
the resistance through the switch should be less
than 5 ohms when switched on.

The schematics show a 20-amp fuse in the rear
fuse block (under rear seat), a relay there also,
and then the wiring harness goes straight out to
the actuator motor. If you hear and see the
actuator working, it is either not in place correctly
or needs to be replaced.

Hope this helps,
GuMan

C200 is up under the middle of the front console.
Sitting in the driver seat, it should be at your right
knee area. You will need to remove the knee bolster
and all to get the underside of the dash.

It is a large connector (Metri-pack) with a screw
down through the middle. Numbering on this
connector is going to be hard to explain. I can send
you an email with images for both of these if
you send me an email to:
