MIVEC Problem?

Is it possible to have all the valves on a MIVEC engine open all the time (and not just above 3500rpm), thus killing your gas mileage? Would this trigger a check engine light?

first of all, what '90-'99 DSM do you have with MIVEC?

secondly, the car would idle REALLY bad if it was stuck on the aggressive profile.
