Brake light on 95 Continental

How do I get to replacing the driver side brake light? Do I have to take all the carpet off the underside of the trunk?

Rear Lamp/Stoplight
Removal and Installation:

1. From inside luggage compartment, remove lower back panel trim cover.

2. Remove rear lamp sockets from rear lamp body.

3. Remove bolts and grommet retaining rear lamp body to lower back panel. Remove rear lamp.

4. Note: Inspect rear lamp retaining bolts to make sure seal is intact or a water leak may result.

To install, reverse Removal procedure.

Question Re: Brake light on 95 Continental

What about the brake light that is behind the rear seats (visible in the rear windshield) ?

How do I get to those lights to replace them?

Thanks,

Drew

Hi Drew..
Got your fix right here. This is 1996, but they should be identical.

Lamp, Rear Hi-Mount

1. Open luggage compartment door.

2. Remove trim panel below package tray.

3. Lower rear of bracket and relay module tray assembly.

4. Disconnect lamp electrical connector.

5. Remove screws and clips of two most rearward clips which hold the rear hi-mount lamp to the package tray panel.

6. Squeeze legs of the four remaining clips together and push rear hi-mount lamp upward.

7. Remove lamp from inside the vehicle.

8. To install, reverse Removal procedure.

Socket
