Angry Not starting

My daughter has a 99 Tracer (same as Escort), when it's at operating temp and turned off, it often will not start when it's tried. The key turns but nothing happens, like it's in drive or reverse. After several attempts it will usually start. Is this likely the neutral switch and if so, where is it located?

I'd bring it to autozone and have the charging /electrical system checked.

It doesn't have a safety neutral switch. It has what is called transmission range sensor. The transmission has 2 major wiring harnesses coming out of it. The sensors are inside your transmission. Oftentimes these wiring connectors get corroded and have a bad contact. If you can locate 2 wiring assemblys coming out of the transmission trace them to the connectors. Unplugging them and plugging them back in will often correct your problem.
