trying to change the head light bulbs has made me lose my mind
the manual says to unscrew two screws and its simple.
but its not. the two screws do nothing and i was wondering if anyone has a better tutorial laying around on the internet PS: its a 97 yukon |

Hi Kevin,
It has been about 3 years since I owned a 97 Yukon XL. I know that in early 2001 I wrecked the front corner and had one headlight bezel replaced by the body shop. When I picked it up, the remaining one looked so cloudy that I ordered another one...I put it in myself and it was not hard...I just can't remember from memory where all the screws are that holds the bezel in. Find the right ones though and then it is very easy to change the bulb. I think I used just a torx screwdriver. Want to sharpen the front of your 97? I would change out the headlight and blinker bezels if they are cloudy...makes the front end look way nicer. By the way...I miss my 97 XL everyday except for the brakes. Goodluck...Mike |

its funny you say that, cuz the brakes really are god awful.
other than that, i love my truck. it would be easier to search around, but its been like -5 to 15 degrees out here in Michigan. thanks mike, i'll figure this thing out when its at least 40 out and i can putz around a little with it. |

the screws that your turning might be the ones to adjust the headlight angles, check around to see if there are any other screws

Hi Kevin,
there are 2 black pins that look like allen wrenches. You pull them out to the top and the headlight assembly will fall out to the front. If you need to replace the mounting bracets, you can now see 4 bolts in the corners of the assembly. Hope this helps. Take care, Eggert Johnson
