Electric seat for manual seat replacement

My 2000 Passat has horrible bad seats, very uncomfortable. So much so that my wife refuses to drive this car. I think I have the only Passat with bad seats...

I am looking to replace these with others from a junkyard. I was wondering whether I can install electric seats instead of the original manual ones.

Also, I assume that leather seats can be installed in place of cloth seats, right?

I don't have a shop manual. Any suggested procedure for removal / installation is greatly appreciated.

Help! I don't want to get rid of this car, but I need to save my marriage!!!
