Service Tire Pressure Monitor

While driving down the freeway, I recieved a "Service Pressure Monitor" message on my display.

This is on a '04 Tahoe, (3,400 miles) but I figured I'd post it here since more Yukons and Denali's came with them.

The manual says the problem is a faulty or non-programmed transmitter and to service the monitor system. It also says that he display will come up once each engine ignition cycle.

Well. It didn't come on again, after several cycles.

My question is this. Are these things known to throw out false errors from time to time, or is it possible that they may get a phantom signal from a passing GM vehicle with the same TPM system, which would read the other vehicles signal as non-programmed?

Thanks.
